Erley was welcomed as the new chair at a ceremonial passing of the gavel during the IFEA’s 56th Annual Convention & Expo in Fort Worth, Texas in October. His term officially began on January 1, 2012.

Founded in 1956 as the Festival Managers Association, the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) today is The Premiere Association Supporting and Enabling Festival & Event Professionals Worldwide. In partnership with global affiliates under the umbrellas of IFEA Africa, IFEA Asia, IFEA Australia / New Zealand, IFEA Europe, IFEA Latin America, IFEA Middle East (MENASA), and IFEA North America, the organization’s common vision is for “A Globally United Industry that Touches Lives in a Positive Way through Celebration.”

Remember those back to school days as a kid when the teacher had you write an essay titled “What I did this summer?” Well here at CSG we thought it would be fun to look back on our jam packed summer.

What We Did This Summer:

As always it was another busy season for us here at CSG starting with the Coldwell Banker Denver Century Ride and ending with the Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown. In between we were busy with the Cherry Creek Arts Festival presented by Janus and the Colorado Fall Home Show. Additionally we spent our summer managing Colorado Lottery’s Event Promotion team at various events around the state of Colorado.

May: The Coldwell Banker Denver Century Ride presented by Rickenbaugh Cadillac Volvo and 99.5 The Mountain, now in its second year was a great success with nearly 1,500 cyclists. It once again started at INVESCO Field at Mile High (now Sports Authority Field) before heading up Lookout Mountain and then going down through Red Rocks and into Castle Pines before returning to the stadium. We have some exciting new changes for the 2012 ride that we can’t wait to share with you all!

July: After the Denver Century Ride it was time for us to turn to the 21st Annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival presented by Janus. One of the largest properties we represent , this year’s festival drew 360,000 attendees throughout the 3 day festival on July 4th weekend. There was something for all at the festivals with over 240 of the nation’s top visual artists and over 30 performing artists. In additional to the various artists the ever popular culinary row, art auction, festival nights and artivity avenue kept people busy!

September: Next came the Colorado Fall Home Show sponsored by Bellco Credit Union, held in Downtown Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. This event held in conjunction with the Colorado Garden & Home Show every February helps home owners discover any last minute projects ideas before winter welcomes us.

September: Wrapping up our summer events was the Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown presented by Dr Pepper and King Soopers. This annual battle between the Colorado State University Rams and the University of Colorado Buffaloes was once again held at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. It was an action packed game with CU ultimately coming out out top. In addition to the game there was fun in game sponsor promotions and great representation outside the stadium!

As for the Colorado Lottery, we had a great time going from event to event with our promotion team! We startedwith the Colorado Lottery Fan Appreciation Day in April, with additional summer event promotions at Wild Wild West Fest, Country Jam, Olathe Corn Festival, A Taste of Colorado, finishing up just last week at the Chili & Frijoles in Pueblo, CO.

Now that the fall is approaching we are busy wrapping up sponsors for the Colorado Ballet and the 9NEWS Parade of Lights. Stay tuned for updates from those events as well!

Cherry Creek State Park-Denver, Colorado

Few experiences engage and impact women on such a personal level as Tri for the Cure, launched in 2004 to provide women with an opportunity to personally accomplish something that at first, seemed beyond their reach. Many of these women (nearly 40%) have never done a triathlon before…many didn’t know how to swim…some hadn’t been on a bicycle since they were kids…for others the thought of a 5K seemed impossible. Yet here they are today, triathletes.

The attraction of Tri for the Cure is so strong, that each year the 3,300 openings sell out. The appeal in not simply limited to the personal challenge of completing a triathlon, but the opportunity to honor mothers, daughters, sisters and friends who have be afflicted with, and many who have survived breast cancer. Even more remarkable, since its inception, Tri for the Cure has generated more than $1 million for the Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which recognizes this event as a cornerstone fundraiser.

Event’s Demographic Profile

-24% live in household earning greater than $110,000

-74% homeowners

-74% are between the ages of 25-54

Event Sponsorship Opportunities

In 2010, CSG was selected by Colorado Preservation, Inc. to design, structure and manage a cause marketing campaign to raise $12 million to restore the Colorado State Capitol Dome. CSG created the campaign name “Share in the Care Colorado,” managed the brand development and designed the partnership packages.
An iconic symbol of unparalleled historic significance, the Colorado Capitol Building is considered by many to be Colorado’s greatest treasure. It is a living history museum and active seat of government that beckons school children, travelers, politicians and constituents from around the state and across the nation. Within its great halls reverberate the echoes of over a century of debate and decision that shaped Colorado amid interests as diverse as its landscape.

In association with the State Historical Fund, Historic Denver, Inc. and Colorado Preservation, Inc., the Havey Productions team is producing a documentary film bringing the story of the Capitol to life. Due to premiere in February 2012, the film will honor the Colorado State Capitol Building as the one structure that represents the past, present and future of all Coloradans.
