DENVER’S BEST CENTURY
In 2010 Denver’s newest active-lifestyle event was launched as the Coldwell Banker Denver Century Ride. The inaugural ride received rave reviews from more than 1,300 riders who praised the event for the course, organization, support and professionalism.
Building on that success, the 2011 Denver Century Ride had a registration increase of 14% and the excitement is still building. The 2012 Denver Century Ride will be moving to an exciting new location at Stapleton Central Park and will be held on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17, 2012.
In 2012, the Ride is moving to and exciting new location at Central Park at Stapleton, centrally situated at I-70 and I-270. This year’s Coldwell Banker Denver Century Ride features FIVE ALL NEW courses ranging from one to one-hundred miles. The 100, 75 or 62-mile routes challenge novice cyclists and feature diverse terrains, scenic views and fully supported routes. For the pleasure rider, enjoy the 25 mile Community Ride to Downtown Denver and back or the “Tour de Stapleton,” a family-friendly course through the neighborhood. All courses end up at Stapleton Central Park with a Father’s Day Celebration Picnic.
The Community Ride course will take advantage of the bike trail system within the Stapleton community and will begin after the metric and century ride starts. The Community Ride will follow an enjoyable level route for all ages and abilities and will even include special kid-friendly aid stations.
An estimated 1,500-2,000 cyclists will participate in either the full and metric centuries following a continuous course that will start and end at Central Park and take a new and exciting route through Downtown Denver as well as urban, suburban, foothills and mountain terrain on roads and trail systems for all levels of cycling enthusiasts to enjoy, from novice, to intermediate and avid cyclists. Further, the Denver Century Ride will benefit the nonprofit group Bike Denver, the city’s leading advocacy organization for cycling.
