The Deer Creek “Challenge.” Challenge? Talk about an understatement!
With 12,725’ of vertical gain, even the most fervent cycling fanatic will be sucking air as their quads scream for a reprieve on this course considered the toughest in the country.
Voted “Colorado’s Best Cycling Event” by Competitor Magazine, the 2012 Deer Creek Challenge will be held on Sunday, August 19th featuring courses with limited traffic, fully-stocked aid stations and SAG on-demand mobile support throughout the participant’s choice of a 33-mile, metric century (62-mile), 89-mile and full century (100-mile) courses.
An anticipated 1,500 cyclists will challenge themselves on the contiguous, freshly swept course that begins and ends at the Johns Manville Technical Center, located in Southwest Denver, featuring standard-setting cyclist support from nutritionally-balanced and stocked aid stations every 7.4 to 16 miles to SAG-on-demand vehicle support.
The Finish Line Expo will feature a delicious barbecue meal and a cyclist favorite – free beer. Additionally, more than a dozen exhibitors with the latest products and services appealing to the endurance lifestyle will be on hand.
