This past Labor Day weekend, the Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown brought fans from all over the state back to the first of ten Showdown games that will be played at INVESCO Field at Mile High. The excitement could be felt whether you cheered for the Rams or the Buffs as the parking lots filled with tailgating fans before kickoff.
Nearly 61,000 fans filled the stadium to cheer for their favorite school as the Buffs and the Rams met for the kick off of the college football season. The energy and excitement could be felt throughout the stadium as Colorado’s biggest rivalry battled it out on the field. The stadium was full of promotions for the fans including the Cinch Jeans t-shirt toss in the first quarter, the Dr Pepper challenge at Halftime, the Donate Life Colorado winning school announcement in the third quarter and giveaways for lucky fans including gift cards from Cinch Jeans and Shane Co. and The Ultimate Pad giveaway from Ultimate Electronics. Fans also puckered up for the Shane Co. Kiss Cam throughout the game.
The Rocky Mountain Showdown is Colorado’s longest running in-state football Traditionally played on Labor Day weekend, this game serves as the official kick off of the college football season in Colorado.
